My name is Steve Sexton.
I’m a marine surveyor and the proprietor of Meeching Yacht Surveys. My story started over 40 years ago when I served on the harbour works at Newhaven harbour in East Sussex as a very young diesel engineer working on all types of plant and machinery including our harbour launches and commercial work barges.
I progressed from this into marine engineering at a local marine company.
I have run my own successful marine engineering company since 2000 and have found myself working on all types of vessels at locations all over the world.
I pride myself on excellent service and good value for money.
I have over the years gained an extensive knowledge of all types of craft and there power systems and of course there good and not so good features.
Meeching Yacht Surveys
I went back to the classroom and took a 5 week marine surveying course to ensure my surveying knowledge is at its very best and passed this qualification with a Merit. Meeching Yacht Surveys was born.
In this industry I have found that you never stop learning and nobody knows it all.
Because I have been in this trade for so many years I have met and worked with some of the countries best marine engineers and boatbuilders so if required i can call upon a pool of information and in-depth knowledge second to none.
I also hold a yacht master offshore/ocean certificate, VHF licence with all other relivent certificates. I have carried out many sea trials and vessel deliveries clocking up many thousands of sea hours.
